Autumn has arrived, if you didn’t know already. Autumn, like Spring, brings with it a whole lot of fun because it brings with it the changes. Changes such as; clocks moving, darkness and lightness but most importantly fashion and beauty. I wanted to update, the favourite post amongst readers and that is my Autumnal beauty picks- much of which is very similar to previous posts but I felt that in the last few years, new products have made their way into my collection. I wanted to name drop a few of the products which I feel have shaken things up, so not necessarily a beauty routine but new in beauty products for the new season. New season, new make up? So without a further ado, here goes…let’s commence Autumnal Beauty.
Bobbi Brown: Skin Foundation
Without a shadow of a doubt, this foundation had to have gone into my list of Autumn picks. A foundation that is light weight but great for concealing blemishes as well as smoothing your complexion. I find this, foundation to be great for building as well as wearing as minimal coverage which ticks off; the daywear and evening attires perfectly. The coverage concealer that compliments the foundation, is also a fabulous addition to any make up bag but in all honestly, the foundation works so well on it’s own that additional blemish control is often not needed- winning!
Tarte CC Concealer
This concealer, holy cow! Who needs sleep? When this concealer takes you from looking like you’ve lived on 2 hours sleep to 12. This concealer’s creamy consistency is fabulous for concealing those heavy under eye circles working excellently at brightening up the eyes. I find this, concealer to be most useful when adding a touch of smoke onto the eyes. Unfortunately, however this is one of the products that is only available to ship into the UK since, TARTE, still don’t stock in the UK market. Someone change this immediately please!!!
Essence Mascara Primer
Brands everywhere, have tried this formula or this theory of a base coat for your mascara which somehow manages to elongate what you’ve got from the mascara. Over the years, I’ve failed to be impressed until I stumbled across the efforts from Essence; one of my favourite high street beauty brands. If you want high quality for low prices, Essence have got your back! I brush this onto my curled lashes and then within a 1-2 coats I have white lashes. This works at just giving the lashes a little more hold and texture for the mascara to sit onto- giving a much thicker effect onto the lashes. Think of this, as the base coat for your mascara; in the same way that a base coat for your nails works- this mascara primer acts well at ensuring your lashes hold lasts for the duration of the day. If you’re after thicker lashes with mascara this will be the product you need to add to any mascara in your collection. Regardless of brand, formulation or mascara this primer will make your lashes look a million pounds in sections.
Tarte Contour Palette
I’m usually a person of habit thus I never buy into palettes for contouring etc since I prefer using individual products but I felt that it was time to teach this new dog some new tricks. This palette, like the mascara is not available to purchase in the UK due to Tarte still not selling in the UK (ball ache) but for giving you that bronzed natural goddess look in Autumn and through the rest of the year- this palette is rather splendid. The palette consists of a highlighting powder which for me acts as a great powder for applying after your base products- sits really well on top of foundations and concealers. Then, you have two contour shades as well as two bronzers. 2, being based of a shimmery consistency- the others with a matte consistency. I believe this is a must have purchase when you’re abroad and wanting to try a new brand. The formulation is strong and the bronzed effect is perfect, I am just cooing over this product and featuring it in every single make up look I put on my face whether it’s the no make-up make up or the evening look. Just a must have!
Urban Decay Heat Palette
Just WOW. Where would we honestly be without discussing this palette? Yes, before we discuss it. I know, I’ve not included it in my flat lay but this palette, is for anyone who loves an orange toned eyeshadow and is my dream palette. I personally, think this palette is better than other previous palettes due to the variety of decent shades, all of which I use daily. I think the ability to take the eyes from day to night is incredibly simple when using this as a base for variety. So, whether this is in your collection at the moment or not, for fall definitely add this into your capsule make up collection.
Revlon Lustrous Lipstick – Bombshell Red
Autumnal make up would be definitely missing something if I missed out, a berry toned lipstick. I am bringing you the Revlon, Bombshell Red lipstick which is the perfect berry red toned lipstick for this time of year. I always combine this with a contoured and bronzed face from Tarte and this acts as a rather lovely combination if I say so myself. Whether you’re needing a new lipstick, these lustrous lipsticks are offering a great variety of shades including the bombshell red shade which is simply perfect.
